For years, I sat inside healthcare organizations at the moment AI went from concept to deployment. I was in the rooms where vendors made promises, where data governance questions got deferred, and where legal and operational teams talked past each other because they didn't share a common language for risk.

The technology kept advancing. The governance frameworks kept lagging. And the people responsible for protecting patients, data, and institutional integrity kept being asked to make consequential decisions without adequate tools to make them well.

Frontier Governance Group exists because that gap is too consequential to leave unfilled.

I'm Jessica Smith, Founder of Frontier Governance Group.

I'm a healthcare attorney with a decade of experience at the intersection of data, technology, and regulated decision-making. Before founding FGG, I held legal and governance roles at organizations including a top 5 Fortune 500 company and a major nonprofit healthcare system — where I worked hands-on with the problems AI governance is now asked to solve.

I've negotiated data use rights with AI vendors, built PHI de-identification frameworks, led a two-year global initiative building a real-world data product line with AI-powered search, advised on responsible AI deployment in medical imaging, and served as legal decision-maker on commercial data product design.

That practitioner foundation is what makes FGG different. I don't advise on governance from the outside. I've made these decisions from the inside, where the tradeoffs are real and the stakes are institutional.
